Our love for street art

Although not officially stated, Amsterdam Teleport Hotel could qualify as a street art hotel. We are very proud to have more than 120 out of 148 rooms painted by amazing street art and graffiti artists from all over the world. In 2016 we organized our first Teleport Art Event with the Amsterdam Street Art platform. Together we invited 8 local and international graffiti artists, gave them carte blanche and the result of this event and many that followed you can see in the gallery below. Don’t hesitate or be shy to drop us an e-mail and to ask if the room with your favorite piece of art is available for your upcoming stay!

Otto Schade, Chilean-German street artist, urban sculptor and architect, decorates walls with smooth lines that shape into surreal contemporary pieces.
They are not always joyful, but they always make you admire the collaboration between man’s mind, skill and spray-paint cans.

Sandor, a.k.a “Juice”, is an Amsterdam native and has been creating art since the early 80’s. His specialties include street art and art nouveau decorations.
Mr.June started graffiti in 1985. After six years of oldskool Hip Hop, break dance and graffiti, Graphic Design at the royal school of arts (HKU) was a natural
follow-up where he became a teacher after graduating. Over the last 7 years his murals show a more abstract character, allowing to blend in with his also
abstract canvas work.

Max aka Above Love Art is a Polish graffiti artist from Poznan. His signature joyful, colourful, cartoony and super funny paper bag characters can be found
on different walls in Amsterdam. His work at first glance looks simple but there is so much humour and creativity put into his designs if you pay attention
to the details. Above love art very often collaborates with Madame Butterfly and Pervomat.

Djim has over 15 years’ experience as a graffiti artist and illustrator. Recently he also started tattooing.
Djim likes to combine realism with abstract and geometric influences in his work.

JoostvijfB’s first love was graffiti. A very young Joost had an ambitious dream: making his name visible at as many places possible and put Joost stickers all
over Alphen a/d Rijn. His first contact with graffiti was in 1999. Fooling around with a marker started to bore him. It was time for the real thing: spray cans,
long nights on the street with friends and endless pieces of pieces. It was necessary in order to learn to create something much more than a simple tag.
Soon Joost’s dream became much bigger and wanted (his) street art to be something that people would detour for. Graffiti had to be put
in a positive daylight.

Hugo Mulder’s artwork has been published nationally and internationally. Before DHM could be easily recognized by his tribal/tattoo style animals. Now he
switched a bit more towards digital female images full of details and a mixture of styles. He combines scratches, cuts, drawings and paint
to create pieces that really stand out.

often depict romance, his rough childhood, and the journey of finding his own identity. Heavy brush strokes, splatters and shapes carved in the canvas
are distinctive for his art and often described as expressive and "straight in your face".

ROOM #126
Marcus always had a passion for drawing and painting. Friends who were already active in applying graffiti (commissioned) brought him into contact with
the spray can. In addition to designing letters, he was mainly concerned with spraying images such as cartoons, objects and / or portraits. That is how he
came into contact with the airbrush, a small paint gun with which he could achieve the same effect on a smaller scale as in large with a regular spray can.
Today Marcus combines spray can and airbrush to achieve the most realistic result possible

Eklor is an Amsterdam based creative mind born in France in 1986. Graffiti activist and Spray painter since 2000 entered the scene because he liked drawing
and hiphop culture. Elkor have never had the rage or the urge to strip streets or railroads, to convey a message of rebellion. His work is characterized by the
dynamic of both the structure of letters and of the use of colors and textures.

Ottograph, a large-scale mural painter, has been slinging paint since the age of ten. The Modern Art Museum of Antwerpen (Belgium) is home to a giant
Ottograph mural. Otto also painted murals in Moscow, Tokyo, Berlin New York and San Fancisco.

Mossy Giant is an Amsterdam based illustrator and graphic designer. His works are not for the easily distracted, he wants people that take the time to sit
down and look at the lines and details and step into the worlds that are in front of them. Nature, Man, Beast & machine are the recurring themes that are
at play within the creations of Mossy Giant. Wizard-like hippies, jolly bears and archaic transportation devices (read Hippie Vans) are subjects that the
giant loves to put on paper.

Simian Switch from Dordrecht is graffiti artist, graphic designer, illustrator and one of the founders of Iconoclash a concept of the Dordrecht Street Art
platform for the Beeldenstorm (Great Iconoclash in 1566) Woordenstorm festival in 2016. Dordrecht had to become the artists city it once was.

ROOM #210
Ringo prefers to make (large) wall paintings and mixed media works on canvas and paper. Through the variation of working as a street artist in public spaces and as a visual artist in the studio, he keeps both passions challenging for himself and exciting
for the outside world. He developed his strong sense of typography and design in the graffiti and street art circuit. It was therefore a logical step to study graphic design at the Willem de Kooning academy, where he graduated in 2010.

Ox-Alien is a Dutch artist who started tagging his name in the late eighties, In 2000 he made the switch to actual street art. During this 'era' it was most
common to create wicked characters, develop your own style and show the world what you're made of. Instead of wild-styling and tagging, he created
a pink flying head with one eye as an “O” and one eye as a “X”. Some people on the streets called it “Ox-Alien” and very quickly this became the artist's
pseudonym.

ROOM #221
Serge draws and paints surreal creatures, animals, cyborgs and android creatures. On a variety of substrates - from canvas and paper to walls and found
objects. This way he creates dark scenes with a subtle wink. Because Serge is always experimenting with different materials and themes his style develops
continuously. Rumours go that he makes most of his designs in his delivery truck being stuck in traffic jam.

Dmitrii Treu (1982) lives and works in Belgium. His multidisciplinary works are often inspired by pop culture, (art) history, anthropology and everyday life.
He picked up graffiti in 1997 and studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Similar to a 1980’s hip hop DJ,One Duo mixes pop culture elements
with older aspects of an ancient, artistic tradition. Creating a new meaning for iconic and historical images.

Henrique Montanari aka EDMX was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. EDMX uses different media in his artistic work such as painting, graffiti, collage and 3d,
with the objective of passing a positive message about life and questioning contemporary social and cultural moments. In Sao Paolo he learned
to see the beautiful in the midst of chaos, making street art and underground culture ever present.

Lastplak is a group of around nine painters with different backgrounds and diverse skills. Their goal is to paint, no matter what surface, size or location.

abstract artworks to fonts. Johannesburg born artist Zesta, discovered graffiti in 2001. He creates a wide variety of styles from abstract murals and graffiti
lettering to cartoon characters and more realistic or graphic portraits and landscapes.

Great location, easy to get from train station, 5 minutes by train from the very city centre. The hotel is very trendy and bright. Loved the design and the colours, the atmosphere. Staff is great – very welcoming and helpful. They provided us with a city map with places they recommend to visit – very thoughtful. There is an opportunity to rent bikes and go on a free tour everyday. There is art in every room and the corridors. Also, tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Just great.

Its an amaaaazing place to stay. Great location next to Amsterdam Sloterdijk station which is just 1 stop away from Amsterdam Central. Friendly staff. Breakfast worth the cost, they make omelletes for you the way you like. Comfortable and clean rooms. Really cool designs inside the hotel and awesome private beach for chilling. Simply loved it!

Can highly recommend, great location, really awesome facilities, excellent staff.

Great modern and fun decor inside. The room facilities are fantastic, in fully self contained rooms you get a fridge, microwave and even a Philips Senseo coffee machine! The temperature of the rooms is good, nice blackout curtains. The rooms are very clean and general comfort is great. Bathrooms are nice, very clean and the shower is excellent. Drinks around the recreation areas are free, coffee machines and even a beer tap. There’s even a mini beach area outside reception to relax in with some games and even a playstation!

Good location close to the train station and only 5 minutes away from Amsterdam Central by train, nice big room with all the facilities, great entertainment in the main lobby. We had some much fun playing arcade games :) Special thanks to Rudy, one of reception staff, who was so welcoming and gave us lots of tips about the city, had a great laugh with him chatting about all options to eat around Amsterdam :) he also left us a very much appreciated card and some stroopwafels in our room.
